Dr. Bonds Biography
Sara Bonds, OD earned her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from the Pennsylvania State University. She then went on to earn another Bachelor of Science in Visual Science and her Doctorate in Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She graduated with honors in the top 5% of her class.
Dr. Bonds completed externships in several different modes of practice. She studied at the Laurel Eye Clinic in Altoona, PA. It was there that she gained an understanding of ocular disease and treatment. She participated in comprehensive eye examinations, cataract evaluations, and Lasik pre- and post-operative visits. Dr. Bonds also completed an externship at the Lebanon VA Hospital where she gained valuable experience in diagnoses eye disease pertaining to overall systemic health. She then joined a private practice in Chester County where she gained vast experience in all types of contact lenses.
Today, Dr. Bonds performs comprehensive eye examinations, with special emphasis on eye health. Dr. Bonds diagnoses diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, cataracts and other ocular pathology. She also has a special interest in contact lenses. Dr. Bonds fits a wide variety of lenses, and takes interest in “hard to fit” contacts.
In her spare time, Dr. Bonds likes to spend quality time with her husband and children, and their extended family. She also enjoys reading, hiking, biking, and gardening.
